The 3rd Summit for Democracy

Introduction

The Summit for Democracy…

The Summit for Democracy was first held on December 9-10th 2021, a virtual international conference hosted by Joseph R. Biden Jr., President of the United States. Representatives from approximately 110 countries, along with members of civil society and private sector leaders, took part in the conference which centered on three main topics: safeguarding against authoritarianism, addressing and combating corruption, and advocating for human rights.

Building on the momentum of the second Summit for Democracy in 2023, the third Summit will be held in Korea this year, with a primary focus on fostering democracy for future generations. Around 300 delegates including government officials, representatives from international organizations, academia, and civil society, will gather in Korea to discuss policy enhancements and strategic pathways to shape a better future for future generations.
